In 1994, the school
was inspected by OFSTED. These are a few of the main findings of the

well above the national averages.
- The quality of learning at
both key stages and in the Sixth Form, is good. Pupils are confident,
capable and enthusiastic learners.
- The quality of teaching, at
both key stages and in the Sixth Form, is good.
- The governors, with the headteacher
and the senior management team, provide strong leadership which has a positive
impact on the quality of pupils' learning and the quality they achieve.
- The school is very efficient
and provides very good value for money.
- The school's work is based
on clear principles and values which are reflected in practice.
- The school fulfils its aim
of providing a 'happy, hard working and courteous community'. Pupils'
behaviour and discipline and the quality of relationships within the school
are very good. The positive ethos of the school is further enhanced
by the extent of the school community's participation in a wide range of extra-curricular
activities.
